Please ensure you leave all bus parking free from vehicles during school and conference times. Please be punctual as conferences are only 15 minutes.

Finally, parents, please ensure you visit your child’s MyCBE account to view all of the assessment and reporting information your teacher has shared. Please attend conferences with a question or comment about what you have seen on your child’s powerschool/ MyCBE account.

Results of Family Survey:  Religious and Cultural Celebrations

We had 233 people participate in the survey that closed on October 31st. Thanks again for your input on how your family celebrates important times of the year. This information will help teachers to understand our school community better and plan activities and lessons accordingly in the coming months.

Survey Results to follow in a separate report on the Website under School Council and NEWS

Family Homework

Is your child dressed for the the weather? Can your child put on all of their winter clothing?  Have you watched your child get their boots, snowpants, coats, hat and mitts on independent of your assistance?  How long does this take them?  Can they do it?

Please consider practicing this with your child. Many are struggling with the “order of operations” of this task. Putting on mitts first and then trying to zip a coat can be problematic. Have you taught them what order they should put their winter clothing on?

Also – dollar store gloves will not keep your child’s tiny fingers warm. All children should be wearing mitts that are thicker than the thin mitts from the dollar store.

Please label all of your winter clothing – thank you

Safety around the School

Please remember to park on the street and watch for pedestrians crossing and buses loading or unloading students every day.  We need your help to keep our alley and school parking lots free from vehicles so that everyone can have a safe experience at school.  Please refrain from “j-walking” as this is illegal and unsafe.

Uniforms

Students need to wear their formal uniforms on Mondays, school assemblies, field trips and special events.  Remember to wear your formal uniforms to our Parent Teacher interviews coming up on November 28th and 29th.   Always have students' names clearly labeled in uniform clothing to keep things well organized at school.  That way, they can more easily keep track of items at school. Please stop by our Lost and Found at school during student conferences as there are many items that need to be claimed by families.

Healthy Families

Wash your hands regularly to Prevent and Stop Colds

After contact with a dirty surface, people should wash their hands. If there’s a sink available, wash with water and soap making sure to lather for at least 20 seconds and dry the hands fully. You can also use an alcohol-based hand rub, consisting of between 62 per cent and 70 per cent ethanol, as long as the hands stay wet for at least 15 seconds. When executed properly, a combination of handwashing and disinfection will help to prevent the unnecessary spread of flu and allow for a quicker return to normal.
