🌟 New Student Orientation – A Celebration of Community

Thursday was our New Student Orientation, and it was truly wonderful to see so many familiar faces. Many of our returning families will be welcoming younger siblings to our school this fall, and it fills us with gratitude and pride.

We are deeply appreciative of the trust and confidence you place in us to educate and care for the students in our community. It is also incredibly meaningful to know that you share your positive experiences with others—your support is a big part of why our school remains such a valued and sought-after place to learn. Simply put, this is because of you.

This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming 106 new Kindergarten students. There is nothing quite like seeing the excitement and wonder in their eyes as they enter the school for the first time and head off to their classrooms with new friends.

We also welcomed approximately 60 new students in Grades 1–5, each arriving with just as much enthusiasm and curiosity. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with them, begin building relationships, and learn a little about who they are. These early connections help us ensure that we are ready to provide a thoughtful, supportive, and well-planned start to the school year.

At the heart of all we do is community. We are proud of the strong partnerships we share with our families and know that the best outcomes for students happen when we work together. We are committed to continuing this collaboration—working alongside you to nurture growth, confidence, and success for every child.

💫 Amazing Grade 5 Leadership Students – Simply Amazing!

My heart was absolutely bursting with pride as our incredible Grade 5 students stepped into their roles as ambassadors for our school.

They did an outstanding job guiding families through the building—showcasing classrooms, the Learning Commons, and the spaces where they learn French and Music. They spoke with pride about their school, their friendships, and their experiences, welcoming new families with a confidence and ease that made it feel like they had been hosting these events for years.

When it came time to transition students to their classrooms, our Grade 5 leaders truly shone. As expected, some of our youngest learners felt overwhelmed or anxious, many experiencing separation from their caregivers for the first time. Without hesitation, our student leaders stepped in.

They built trust instantly. They offered comfort, reassurance, and genuine care. They “loved them up” in the most authentic way—showing empathy, kindness, and the true qualities of leadership. They didn’t just guide them—they supported them, protected them, and made them feel safe.

Our students—your children—were nothing short of extraordinary.

I couldn’t have asked for more. Their teachers and I were so incredibly proud.

This is a moment for all of us to pause and truly appreciate. Your children are becoming exactly what we hope for—they are contributing positively to their community, showing leadership in its best form, and demonstrating what it means to care for others.

Oh, so proud. Way to go, Grade 5!

Transportation Registration - is now open!

Please ensure you register all of your children for the bus. When you register for the bus, you are increasing your chances of ensuring a bus stop is closer to your home. For those of you in new communities, it is especially important that you register early. This ensures that all of the children in your community have an opportunity to have a bus stop closer by than 2-3 communities over. Please register for the bus.  Registering for the bus in September means that you will be added to a bus stop that already exists. Routs are formed by then and all that can happen as you will be told where the closest stop is. It is important to register early!

Healthy Hunger: FUN LUNCH

Order through : Healthy Hunger

This is a friendly reminder that on Fun Lunch days, outside food is not permitted at school.

All students who have ordered will receive their lunch at school. If your child is not participating, please ensure they bring their regular lunch from home.

Our Fun Lunches are organized by our dedicated School Council volunteers as a fundraising effort to support programs and activities for all students. When outside lunches arrive from other vendors, it creates challenges for our office team and makes the Fun Lunch process more complicated to manage.

To help the day run smoothly for everyone, we ask that families participate in Fun Lunch through the School Council ordering system on those designated days.

Thank you for your cooperation and support in helping us run this program smoothly.

🌿 Healthy Students = Healthy Staff

As we head into a busy time of year, we kindly ask for your support in helping us keep our school community healthy.

If your child is unwell, please keep them at home. In recent weeks, we have seen a significant number of students arriving at school while not feeling well—some with persistent coughs, fevers, or upset stomachs. While we understand the challenges families face, sending students to school when they are unwell often leads to greater discomfort for them and increases the spread of illness to others, including classmates and staff.

To help minimize the spread of illness, please follow these guidelines:

  • Fever: Students should remain at home and may return only 24 hours after their fever has resolved (without medication)
  • Vomiting: Students should stay home for 24 hours after the last episode of vomiting
  • Other symptoms (e.g., upset stomach, significant cough, fatigue): If your child is not well enough to fully participate in a school day, it is best for them to rest and recover at home

We have also had instances where students have become ill on the bus or shortly after arriving at school—this can be very uncomfortable for the child and difficult for everyone involved.

By keeping children home when they are unwell, you are helping to protect not only your own child’s health, but also that of their peers and the staff who work closely with them each day.

We truly appreciate your partnership in this. Working together, we can help ensure a healthy and supportive learning environment for everyone.

Thank You for Attending Our Grade 1 Assembly

Your presence meant a great deal to our students. Seeing their families in the audience helps build confidence and encourages them to take pride in their learning and achievements.

We truly appreciate your continued support and partnership in your child’s education. Working together makes a positive difference in our students’ growth and success.

Thank you once again for being a part of this special experience.
