Eid Holiday – May 27 & 28
We would like to recognize the upcoming Eid holiday, which may fall on May 27 and/or May 28. The exact timing of Eid is guided by the sighting of the moon, and may vary depending on individual traditions and communities. We understand that some families may observe one or both of these days.
If your family will be celebrating Eid and you choose to keep your child(ren) home to mark this important occasion, please call the office to report the absence and note that it is for Eid. Absences for religious observances are recorded as excused.
If you’re able, we would appreciate a quick note to your child’s teacher ahead of time so we can best support classroom planning.
We recognize this is a meaningful time for many within our school community, including members of our staff, and we wish all those celebrating a joyful and special Eid with family and loved ones.
Thank you for helping us honour and support the diverse traditions within our school community.
Transportation Registration - is now open!
Please ensure you register all of your children for the bus. When you register for the bus, you are increasing your chances of ensuring a bus stop is closer to your home. For those of you in new communities, it is especially important that you register early. This ensures that all of the children in your community have an opportunity to have a bus stop closer by than 2-3 communities over. Please register for the bus. Registering for the bus in September means that you will be added to a bus stop that already exists. Routs are formed by then and all that can happen as you will be told where the closest stop is. It is important to register early!

Healthy Hunger: FUN LUNCH
Order through : Healthy Hunger
This is a friendly reminder that on Fun Lunch days, outside food is not permitted at school.
All students who have ordered will receive their lunch at school. If your child is not participating, please ensure they bring their regular lunch from home.
Our Fun Lunches are organized by our dedicated School Council volunteers as a fundraising effort to support programs and activities for all students. When outside lunches arrive from other vendors, it creates challenges for our office team and makes the Fun Lunch process more complicated to manage.
To help the day run smoothly for everyone, we ask that families participate in Fun Lunch through the School Council ordering system on those designated days.
Thank you for your cooperation and support in helping us run this program smoothly.
🌿 Healthy Students = Healthy Staff
As we head into a busy time of year, we kindly ask for your support in helping us keep our school community healthy.
If your child is unwell, please keep them at home. In recent weeks, we have seen a significant number of students arriving at school while not feeling well—some with persistent coughs, fevers, or upset stomachs. While we understand the challenges families face, sending students to school when they are unwell often leads to greater discomfort for them and increases the spread of illness to others, including classmates and staff.
To help minimize the spread of illness, please follow these guidelines:
- Fever: Students should remain at home and may return only 24 hours after their fever has resolved (without medication)
- Vomiting: Students should stay home for 24 hours after the last episode of vomiting
- Other symptoms (e.g., upset stomach, significant cough, fatigue): If your child is not well enough to fully participate in a school day, it is best for them to rest and recover at home
We have also had instances where students have become ill on the bus or shortly after arriving at school—this can be very uncomfortable for the child and difficult for everyone involved.
By keeping children home when they are unwell, you are helping to protect not only your own child’s health, but also that of their peers and the staff who work closely with them each day.
We truly appreciate your partnership in this. Working together, we can help ensure a healthy and supportive learning environment for everyone.
