Hello CAS Families

Volunteers make our school great! Without you and your time, effort, and commitment we would be just an ordinary school without any special events and extra activities. You bring the spice, you provide the shine, you make the day to day sparkle!  We are so glad so many parents were able to participate today in our Volunteer Tea. Thank you for all you do! You have a huge impact, you help to make CAS an amazingly great place to be!

As we wind down the school year, we are actually busy preparing for next year. By the end of the month of June all families will have a comprehensive calendar taht outlines all of the events and activities for CAS. Kindergarten families will know what Fridays they attend. Then you can plan your work and other activities accordingly.

We hope you enjoy the great weather this weekend.

Musical Announcement | Tuneful Tuesday is this week!

Chris Akkerman students are sharing a musical performance outside on the field on Tuesday, June 4 at 1:30pm. All CAS families  are invited to attend. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket to sit on and enjoy six songs performed by our students. We will be at the back of the school, come and join us!

Each student is asked to wear a colour based on their grade. If your child does not have a t-shirt in the colour for their grade, they wear their formal uniform. All students wear uniform pants/ skirts and the top can be either long or short-sleeved formal uniform or the specific colour their grade is wearing. If there is a logo on the front, your student can wear the shirt backwards or inside out.

Tuesday/Thursday Kindergarten: Blue

Grade 1: Purple

Grade 2: Orange

Grade 3: Green

Grade 4: Yellow

Grade 5: Red

We look forward to seeing you there!

Please note:  if there are any concerns regarding weather, the school will send out a messenger to all families the day of the event. For families taking time off of work to attend, please know, we cannot predict the weather and will make decisions that are in the best interests of our community always.

Traffic/ Parking

All families who are dropping/ picking up students at CAS. We would be very grateful if all CAS families could model safe driving and parking. Our expectation – to follow the laws of driving and the signs posted around the school. Please ALWAYS drive 30KM around our school, do NOT make U-turns in front of the school, obey parking and no stopping signs, and avoid using the staff parking lot as a drop off area.  Please cross using the cross walks. If we can all keep our student safety forefront in our mind, then we will continue to be doing what is right and best for our community.  Thank you!

Dean Stanton Art Residency

We are thrilled to have completed the Dean Stanton art residency.  Students and staff have made individual tiles that were used to create two massive indoor murals and one large outdoor mural.  By September, these murals will be installed, and you are welcome to come and view them.  At our welcome back picnic on September 12 there will be a great opportunity to come and celebrate the completion of these beautiful murals, celebrating the diversity of our school community.
