TLC Uniform Expectations – Monday and Tuesday

Both Monday and Tuesday of this week are formal uniform days due to scheduled assemblies.

All students are required to wear full TLC formal uniform. There are no exceptions.

Please note the following expectations:

  • Hoodies are not permitted at Chris Akkerman School.
  • Students who wear a patka or hijab must ensure it is in school colours.
  • Indoor shoes must be black.
    • Black running shoes may be worn all day as indoor shoes.
    • Red, white, or colourful shoes are not part of the uniform and are not permitted.
  • Socks must be navy or black. White socks are not part of the uniform.
  • Pants are not to be worn under uniform dresses or skirts.
  • Sweatpants and leggings are not part of the school uniform.
  • On formal days, students must wear a long-sleeved white button-up shirt with a collar.
    • Shirts must be white—not grey and not stained.
  • Golf shirts are part of the casual uniform only, not formal uniform days.

As both Monday and Tuesday are formal days, all students are expected to be in full formal uniform. If a student forgets an item or makes an inappropriate uniform choice, they will be asked to call home for a replacement.

Yes—students attending field trips on Monday or Tuesday are also required to wear their formal uniform. A visit to the Jack Singer Concert Hall is a perfect opportunity to proudly represent TLC in formal uniform.

Thank you for your continued support in knowing and reinforcing our uniform expectations. At TLC schools, we take pride in wearing our uniforms well.

French Carnival

We are excited to announce Les Jeux Olympiques de CAS! It will take place on Monday, February 9!
This special event will celebrate teamwork, school spirit, and games from French speaking countries throughout the world.

 Important Information:

  • The event will run throughout the school day (each grade will be outside for approximately 60 minutes). PLEASE DRESS FOR THE WEATHER.
  • Students are welcome to wear the colours or jerseys of a country that is special to them.

 Additional Information

Please note that due to food restrictions, no food will be provided on that day.
However, stay tuned - students will receive a small keepsake to remember this special event!

We look forward to an energetic and enjoyable day with our students!

Lost and Found

As always – our lost and found is overflowing.  Kindly remember to label all of yout items. When an item is labelled we do our best to return this to the student who labelled it. There are so many items with no names. Kindly label anything you wish to keep.  If you are missing treasured items, please ensure you remind your child to check out the tables at the front door.  All of these items will be taken to the good will mid February.    Thank you.

Dressing for the weather

Yes, the weather will get cold again. Yes, all children should have mitts on in the morning, it is cold and tiny fingers get cold – even on the bus.  Please ensure your child is dressed for the weather. All of our classes spend time outside. The fresh air is very important to growing bodies and thriving young minds. Please ensure your child can enjoy the time outside. They enjoy it most when they are dressed for the weather.
