All families – please do NOT send any shared food with your children. The CBE frowns on this activity as it is not safe for all students

Transportation – Bus Registration

Did you know only 50% of our students who typically ride the bus have registered.

Did you know everyone who wants to ride the bus next year MUST register.

This means, fewer congregated stops, much further away – for all students and families.

Today is your last day to register for the bus.  You can cancel your registration any time in September if you change your mind and then you do not pay anything.

Usually, we have 10 buses. I anticipated we would have 12 buses because the bus zones all changed and this indicated more students were eligible for the bus.

However, we currently only have 5 buses as so few parents registered.

Please register tonight as it is your very last chance to register.

Outstanding Student Fees

All parents – please check your MyCBE account for all of your children. If there are outstanding fieldtrip fees, transportation fees or lunch supervision fees, kindly pay these fees.   Fees never get removed from your account. When fees are not paid, they remain on your account to be paid the following year.  It does cause the school tremendous work though, when your fees are not paid in time as we have to cover these costs until such time as the fees are paid.

Spirit Days

June 23  Tacky Tourist/ Hawaiian Shirt Day!

June 24  Grade  5 – Fancy Clothes/ Cultural Clothes.  All – fancy clothes/ cultural clothes (in honour of our grade 5 students!)

June 25    Dress like a teacher/ Dress like a student

June 26    School Spirit Day – Wear your Chris the Cub shirts (Last Day of School/ Farewell Assembly)

Parent Volunteers – we need you!

We need some support from our parents who might be very handy. You do not need police clearance to complete this volunteer task.

We have 15 book shelves that have arrived for our class rooms. These bookshelves all arrived unassembled! Can you help us by assembling these, or even one or two?

Please connect with Ms Shilpa in the office. We are happy to accommodate any parent who has time to help us out.   Thank you!

Grade 5 Farewell June 24 - Families

We know you are all anticipating the grade 5 farewell as much as we are. If you have attended the Grade 5 farewell previously, this year, it will be a bit different.

School Council purchases cake for the grade 5 students. Please do not send any cake with the students on Tuesday! This is all looked after. Students will be having celebratory cake on the farewell day, however, this will be in advance of the farewell.   (if your child has dietary restrictions, kindly send them with a cup cake that meets their specific needs so we can all eat cake together)

Siblings - if you have a child in K - Grade 4 at CAS then your child(ren) may join you, sit with you at the farewell. You will need to send your K - Grade 4 Child with a note on the day of the farewell excusing them from class. This note will need to excuse them from class to attend the farewell. K - Grade 4 siblings who brought a note will be leaving class with their backpacks and coats and will go home with their parents after the Grade 5 farewell assembly. We will mark bus attendance accordingly. All children excused from class will sit with their parent. They will be supervised by their parents.   We will NOT be pulling students from class before the assembly if parents did not send their child with a note. We do not have the staff to accommodate this. This is the first time we will be trying this with our siblings. Please let's be great at this so we can do it again next year!

Grade 5 students are expected to wear their best. Their cultural clothing, their best outfits or their formal uniform. If you are wondering if it is acceptable, then please wear your formal uniform.  We all know the formal uniform is always a perfect choice.

Arrival time - families, please plan to be here no later than 1:00pm. The doors will open at 12:50pm. We will have special reserved seats for our parents who have volunteerd with school council this year. Please do not be late as our grade 5 students, our guests of honour, will have a special entrance that you do not want to miss.

Please do not park in Bus Parking.

Following the farewell, there will be time for families to take photos in the gym and outside the gym. We are hopeful following the assembly and photos,  parents will take their children home with them. You do not need to wait at school until the end of the day.

We are looking forward to celebrating our amazing Grade 5s with you! See you on Tuesday June 24.
