Attached is our CAS Family Calendar 2025-2026   While we hope all the dates will remain the same as noted on the calendar, the Chris Akkerman dates could be subject to some minor adjustments if needed. The CBE dates are fixed and will not change. We appreciate your understanding. We will notify you of any changes that maybe needed and appreciate your understanding. 

All families will receive a note from their child's teacher later this week (Thursday or Friday) welcoming them to class and letting your child know where to meet their teacher on the first day of school.  Please know, great care and consideration goes into class placements. These decisions are made with many, many variables in mind. A classroom is a wonderful place for students to reunite with friends and make many new friends. It is a place for learning, growth, celebration. We will not be entertaining any classroom changes at this time. We appreciate your understanding. 

The first day of school will be a formal day, all staff and students should be in their formal uniform.  

If your plans have changed and you are no longer attending Chris Akkerman School, please contact the office immediately to let Ms Shilpa know. If you are on an extended holiday and will not be in attendance in September please ensure the office knows. If you are planning to miss any days of school you need to call in your absences in. If the school calls you or sends you an e-mail, please ensure you reply in a timely manor. If we do not see you and we do not hear from you and you do not respond to our messages, we will remove you from our attendance and the school roster. It is very important that all families remain in communication with the school. We appreciate all of your efforts to keep us informed of your attendance.

Transportation - please check your MyCBE account for all of your transportation information, including bus stop location and time of pick-up. The school does not have this information, please do not call the school with questions about your bus.  If you have not yet registered for transportation you need to do that today!  Every child who is planning to ride the bus, must be registered annually. It is correct that all students will be brought to the school on the first day of classes and you will not be denied access to the bus going to school, however, if you have not registered your child for transportation, then we are not allowed to put your child on the bus home to you at the end of the day. Please ensure you register your child if you have not yet done this.  When your child disembarks from the bus at school, all week we will be marking their hand in sharpie with their bus letter. Thank you for your understanding. This assists us in ensuring your child gets home safely on the correct bus.

Kindergarten Families - you will receive a seperate e-mail later this week with reminders about your Friday Schedule and also about Staggered Entry. In advance though - please know Kindergarten students may not ride the bus until the second week of school. Also, there is a required parent meeting on the first day of staggered entry for all Kindergarten parents.  Thank you for your understanding with this.
